What does “beauty” mean?

Going beyond “skin deep”
By Debbie Vergara

Beauty is the quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses, such as a beautiful man or woman. Beauty, on the other hand, may only be skin deep and can require considerable surface maintenance. You can buy beauty in a bottle, such as the makeup one wears to become beautiful. But beauty can also be what you make of it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That means the one who is doing the looking can see someone who is labeled as “ugly” or “beautiful,” so never judge a book by its cover; what may be ugly to you is beautiful to another.

If you feel you are beautiful, then you ARE beautiful and others will see you that way. Just the same, if you see and feel yourself to be unattractive, then that is what you will be and how others will see you.

In reality beauty is how you feel you are, not how others measure you. So go ahead and feel beautiful, because that is what you are! Enjoy life and everything about life. See the beauty life holds, and all things beautiful will come your way!

Beauty tip:
For those unfortunate enough to be plagued with ACNE, here is a recipe that a few friends and a few “older” people have given me. I have also found this one on the web. It works for me; I hope it works for you.

Here goes:
You will need one package of dry yeast, water (use Evian; its the best) and fresh lemon juice (squeeze that lemon). Here’s what you do: Pour yeast into a bowl and add water, one drop at a time. (You’ll need about two tablespoons.) Mix well after each drop until mixture turns into a medium paste. Add a drop or two of lemon juice after the yeast and water have been mixed well. Mix the lemon juice into the mixture until well blended. Dab it onto your spots…make sure to let it dry before going to bed or doing anything that involves facial rubbing so it won’t come off.
